Conflict - the largest of Conflict

One of the difficulties we have faced in the last six of the Institute Janus' 12 years is our focus on conflict as a stage for a sustainable climate in groups and organizations. No one likes conflict! Everyone wants peace, and with this attitude "superficial" and "good," ignore the conflict, burying it to the inside of himself where he will act as a harmful bacteria, causing the most concern and "unexpected" symptoms.

Arnold Mindell in his book The Deep Democracy of Open Forums states that the greatest conflict in the world is the struggle with the conflict itself!

Hence our difficulty. Everyone loves a rose, smell her perfume, but nobody remembers ("aware") that a good organic fertilizer is required to produce ("process") that rose. Much less aware that in order to produce that fertilizer we needed organic garbagge or animal excrement, that is, to process what is most repugnant in our, so clean and sterile, Western culture.

Can you understand our analogy?

And please do not feel offended by thos question, no! We all forget what we know, even our principles (!) as soon as we enter altered states of consciousness that a "good" conflict gives us.

Did you also notice our difficulty?

With a good "training" in resolution, mediation, management of conflict one can learn to "see" intuitively an opportunity ("a beautiful rose") where others see just a conflict ("excrement that can give me nausea"). What, for "evil" or "good", is not yet a "vision" shared by many.

Are you also intuitive? Do you ses opportunities (attractors), where most only see chaos?
Better know our world needs you very much. I think you also know that is not enough just to see. Turning manure into compost requires a technique called compost or other. Transforming conflict into something useful requires a methodology and an attitude. One does not work well without the other.

The methodology that we share the Institute called Janus Global Task - Worldwork2 and is based on Work Process - Process Work3. Already the most appropriate approach for the application of this technique is called Deep Democracy - Deep Democracy4 creations of the physical and psychologist Arnold Mindell, PhD
